Within the travel industry, black travelers are extremely underrepresented. Black people contribute roughly $63 billion to the travel industry, but are not reflected as often in brand campaigns, partnerships, publications, and the general media. We urgently need more more diversity in this industry and it begins with listening to the stories and experiences of BIPOC (Black, Indigenous, and people of color). If you’re not sure where to start, check out this list of amazing Black travel content creators who are inspiring and educating through their journeys around the world.

The world is currently undergoing an awakening that has resulted in a surge in support of Black businesses and content creators. Additionally, groups such as The Black Travel Alliance are asking brands to “pull up for travel” in an effort to hold them accountable for a lack of diversity. This is the energy we’ve been waiting for, but it doesn’t stop there. Let’s all continue to do our part to support and uplift the Black travel community to create equal representation within the industry.
