Where to Stay in Jersey City
DoubleTree by Hilton Hotel & Suites Jersey City
Location: If you’re looking for a great place to stay during your visit to Jersey City, I highly recommend DoubleTree by Hilton Jersey City. The DoubleTree is an excellent choice due to its prime location, amenities, stunning city views, and quality customer service. Upon arriving, you’re also greeted with a warm, fresh-baked DoubleTree cookie. I couldn’t think of a better welcome! Located in the Jersey City financial district, the DoubleTree provides convenient access to public transit such as the PATH train, light rail, and ferries.
Amenities & rooms: DoubleTree is the only all-suite hotel in Jersey City, making it the perfect hotel for an extended stay or weekend trip with family or friends. Our King Corner Junior Suite was well-appointed with a plush King bed, queen-sized sofa bed, two 50-inch TVs, coffee station and microwave, comfortable workspace, guest bath with shower/tub, and two large windows offering panoramic NYC and Jersey City views. Complimentary in-room Wi-Fi is also available for Hilton Honors members and free Wi-Fi is available in the lobby.
Dining: DoubleTree Jersey City also boasts an on-site restaurant called Hudson Grille. They offer New American cuisine and serve breakfast, dinner, and drinks. The breakfast options were delicious and included pastries, fruits, pancakes, breakfast meats, yogurt, cereal, and more. In-room dining is also available if you’d like to enjoy your meal in the comfort of your room.
Our stay here was absolutely incredible and I can’t recommend this hotel enough. Thanks, DoubleTree Jersey City for hosting me!
Modcup Coffee: Located just outside of the DoubleTree on Washington Blvd, Modcup Coffee is a great place to grab your morning pick-me-up. They serve a variety of freshly-roasted coffee and teas. We stopped by and enjoyed a raspberry iced coffee and lavender lemon iced coffee. I definitely recommend visiting during your stay at the DoubleTree. Thanks, Modcup Coffee for the tasty drinks!

Fun Things to do in Jersey City
Take in the Views at Hudson County Riverfront Walkway
The Hudson County Riverfront Walkway is an 18.5-mile pathway that runs through Bayonne, Jersey City, Hoboken, Weehawken, West New York, Guttenberg, North Bergen, Edgewater, and Fort Lee. The walkway runs along the Hudson River and provides spectacular waterfront views of the Lower Manhattan skyline.
This is a great place to take in the marvelous views, enjoy a walk or bike ride, and grab delicious eats at restaurants such as Son Cubano and Surf City. Along the Walkway are iconic spots such as Exchange Place and Colgate Clock. Looking for transit options? There’s also easy access to the PATH train, Light Rail, and Port Imperial Ferry Terminal.
Stroll Through Liberty State Park
Liberty State Park is a 1212-acre waterfront park that boasts attractions such as cruises of the Statue of Liberty and Ellis Island, the Central Railroad of New Jersey Terminal, Liberty Walk, and the Empty Sky 9/11 Memorial. In addition, the Liberty State Park Interpretive Center provides an in-depth look at the natural history and ecology of the Hudson River Estuary. The Center also offers educational resources and workshops for schools, community organizations, and professionals. A two-mile promenade connects the picnic area, terminal, and interpretive center.
Discover Unique Exhibits at Liberty Science Center & Planetarium
Liberty Science Center is a 300,000 square-foot learning center that features a variety of immersive installations such as 12 museum exhibits, giant aquariums, a 3-D theater, live simulcast surgeries, over 100 live animal species, and so much more. LSC is also home to the largest planetarium in the Western Hemisphere. The center hosts various events such as LSC After Dark and is visited by more than 750,000 students, teachers, and parents each year. If you’re looking for a fun, family-oriented attraction, Liberty Science Center is a great option.
See Captivating Street Art at Jersey City Mural Arts District
One of my favorite things to do when traveling is to go mural spotting, and Jersey City didn’t disappoint. As the largest mural arts program in New Jersey, the Jersey City Mural Arts Program is dedicated to empowering and transforming the city through art. It showcases 200 murals with 60+ new murals created in 2021 (at 581 Monmouth Street) and many more in various neighborhoods around the city. I was so inspired by the variety of vibrant, creative murals!
Spot Cherry Blossoms at Branch Brook Park
Nearby Branch Brook Park in Newark is also a wonderful place to visit, especially during the springtime when cherry blossoms are in bloom. The sprawling park features over 5,000 unique Japanese cherry blossom trees – the largest collection in the U. S. and more than Washington D. C. The annual Cherry Blossom Festival takes place April 2-10. In addition, every Wednesday morning in April the park hosts Cherry Blossom Talks that discuss the history of the Branch Brook Park trees. Admission to Branch Brook Park is free.
Where to Eat in Jersey City
RoofTop at Exchange Place
Jersey City has wonderful options for rooftop dining such as RoofTop at Exchange Place at Hyatt House Jersey City and NoHu Rooftop Bar + Restaurant at the ENVUE Hotel. During my stay, I visited RoofTop at Exchange Place for happy hour. This stylish rooftop is a multi-level dining space with a terrace and rooftop cocktail lounge. From the breathtaking views to the exceptional customer service and signature drinks, the entire experience was amazing. I definitely recommend visiting RoofTop at Exchange Place for an enjoyable evening out with friends or family.
