If you’ve been following me for a while, you’ll know that I absolutely love visiting the DMV. I recently went to Bethesda for the first time and it was one for the books! Bethesda is an upscale suburb of DC, located about 8 miles northwest (roughly 20 minutes) of the capital. It’s a thriving community known for its ethnically diverse restaurants, exciting festivals, boutiques, and fine arts scene.
If you’re looking for a fabulous place to stay, I highly recommend the new Marriott Bethesda Downtown at Marriott HQ. This stylish, upscale hotel is conveniently located in downtown Bethesda, with easy access to shops, restaurants, and attractions.

Location
Conveniently located in downtown Bethesda, Marriott Bethesda Downtown serves as your launchpad to Bethesda and the surrounding neighborhoods. Boutiques, cafes, music venues, and restaurants abound in this lively area. You’re also just a short drive from major airports and the Red Line Metro Stop.
Bethesda Row, an upscale outdoor shopping center, is just a short walk from the hotel. There you’ll find eateries such as Sweetgreen, Chiko, and Bowls & Berries (personally, I recommend all three).
The hotel is also ideally located next to Marriott International’s new headquarters.
Stunning Decor & Design
This 245-room hotel features elegant decor and a massive lobby area with a grand staircase and floor-to-ceiling windows. This is one of the most stunning hotels I’ve stayed at, and it smells divine as well!
Dining & Amenities at Marriott Bethesda Downtown
Marriott Bethesda Downtown features incredible amenities that I highly recommend utilizing during your stay. Firstly, the hotel features an on-site restaurant called Seventh State which serves fantastic modern American dishes with Mediterranean influences. This restaurant/lounge serves breakfast, brunch, lunch, and dinner. You can also enjoy a signature cocktail at their upscale bar/lounge.
We enjoyed a wonderful dinner at Seventh State and everything we tried was absolutely delicious! If you plan to dine here, I highly recommend these items: Beets per minute cocktail, crispy chicken thighs, harvest grain bowl (with salmon), burger, braised short rib, cinnamon beignets, and Smith Island cake. I would honestly go back just for the crispy chicken thighs, beignets, and Smith Island cake. So good! The menu changes seasonally and everything is crafted with the freshest local ingredients.
Additional Amenities
If you’re looking to enjoy a great night out, the hotel also has its own rooftop, Hip Flask Rooftop Bar – Bethesda’s highest sky-rise rooftop bar. This elevated, contemporary bar features elegant decor, stunning skyline views, and unique dishes and cocktails.
Marriott Bethesda Downtown also features M Club Lounge, an exclusive lounge reserved for qualifying Marriott Bonvoy and Club paying members. It’s open 24 hours and includes a selection of food and beverages throughout the day. Breakfast, light snacks, and desserts are served daily.
Additional amenities at Marriott Bethesda Downtown include a state-of-the-art fitness center with 2 Peloton bikes, valet parking, a second-floor terrace, in-room dining with mobile ordering, and more.
Guest Rooms & Suites
Marriott Bethesda Downtown offers elegant king and queen rooms and suites with sweeping views overlooking Bethesda. Our room was spacious and comfortable, with incredible views, lots of natural lighting, a spa-like bathroom, and great in-room amenities (a mini fridge, closet, sofa, desk, and more).
Their spacious suites are perfect for trips with friends, romantic getaways, or extended stays. These comfortable accommodations are the ideal home base for all adventures and occasions.
Final Thoughts
Overall, we were extremely impressed with this hotel and thoroughly enjoyed our stay. This is by far, one of the best hotels we’ve stayed at! I also want to give a special shout-out to the front desk associate, Caroline, and our restaurant server, Tony, who were absolute rockstars! The exceptional service provided by the staff here only adds to this already incredible hotel.
