Between New York, New Jersey, and Philadelphia, the tri-state has some of the most creative and festive displays. From light shows to Christmas festivals, here are some of the best Christmas attractions to see in the tri-state area.
hudson yards
If you’re visiting NYC during the holidays, be sure to add Hudson Yards to your list. This year, they’ve added a stunning holiday installation called Shine Bright, which includes over 2 million lights that illuminate all of Hudson Yards and the Vessel. The display features massive glowing hot air balloons that are featured both outside and inside.

The Market at Westfield
Nov 23 – Jan 5
Located within the Oculus Transit Hub, The Market at Westfield features adorable Christmas pop-up shops, special holiday promotions, festive entertainment, and fun events. Also, you can get some Instagram-worthy photos with the regal clock tower, chrome snowman, and decorate light features. The market is open Mon-Sat from 10 AM- 9 PM, and Sundays 11AM-7 PM.
glassboro town square
Located in Glassboro, NJ, the holiday display at Glassboro Town Square is a must-visit in South Jersey. The display includes a variety of larger-than-life decorations like a Santa hat and Christmas ornaments. Be sure to bring your camera to get a photo with each decoration!
Rockefeller Center

Known as a historical landmark of New York City, a trip to The Rockefeller Center will surely complete your NYC Christmas travel bucket list. During this time of year there are many festive events such as the annual Christmas tree lighting, The Holiday Truck at Rockefeller Center, and The Rink at Rockefeller Center.
Bryant Park Winter Village
Oct 31 – Jan 5
The Bryant Park Winter Village, sponsored by Bank of America, is a true holiday spectacle. Enjoy free admission to the skate rink, The Lodge by Urbanspace bar and food hall, and Holiday Shops.
Winter at Dilworth Park
Nov 8 – Feb 23
In the heart of Center City, Winter at Dilworth Park is a hub for holiday excitement. It consists of the Rothman Orthopaedics Ice Rink & Cabin, the Wintergarden and the Made in Philadelphia Holiday Market. Don’t forget to stick around for the Deck the Hall Light Show, as well. This year, visitors can “play the lights” with an interactive keyboard where visual effects are projected onto the building.
Christmas Village in Philadelphia
Nov 28 – Dec 24
At this authentic German Christmas market, enjoy pop-up booths with locally crafted goods, the 65-foot tall ferris wheel, and holiday pop up train. Also, get a photo at the giant glowing gift box at LOVE Park.
Blue Cross RiverRink Winterfest
Nov 29 – Mar 8
During the holiday season, Blue Cross RiverRink transforms into a winter wonderland. Skate under the stars while enjoying gorgeous views of the Ben Franklin Bridge, a beautiful cabin with fire pits, delicious eats, an arcade, and sparkling holiday lights.
Longwood Gardens
Nov 22 – Jan 5
This massive botanical garden becomes a Christmas paradise at this time of year. Stroll through the conservatory and admire the dazzling lights while enjoying holiday performances, then head outside to view the choreographed fountain light shows. Comfortable shoes and layers are advised, as this attraction is both outdoor and indoor.
Tip: the gardens are extremely busy, so book your tickets ahead online. Timed tickets are required for entry.
Holidays in Palmer Square
Nov 29 – Jan 2
Palmer Square is Princeton’s hub for fine dining, designer boutiques, arts and culture. During the holiday season, you can attend one of many Christmas events such as the Annual Tree Lighting, ice skating, Holiday Trolley Tours, and holiday entertainment every Saturday and Sunday. You might even see Santa strolling around 🙂
