The email will inform you of important hotel details about downloading the LATCH app, parking, and check-in time. You’ll also receive another email that will include your unit number, Wi-Fi information, and a step-by-step arrival guide.
Upon checking out, you’ll receive another email with check-out instructions. The process is very seamless and easy to follow.

Conveniently located in the vibrant Carlyle neighborhood, Placemakr serves as your launchpad to Alexandria and the surrounding areas. At Placemakr, you’re just steps away from restaurants, grocery stores, cafes, attractions, metro stations, and shops. Wegman’s is located next door, which is perfect for those quick grocery runs. The Carlyle neighborhood is lovely, and we explored so many cool spots over the weekend such as the National Inventor’s Hall of Fame, Old Town Alexandria, and John Carlyle Square Park. We even took a day trip to National Harbor, Maryland, which is only a short 10-minute drive away.

Placemakr has different locations around the country and is available for nightly or extended stays, corporate housing, and business travel. Various apartment types are also available for different-sized groups. Opt for either a 1-bedroom, 2-bedroom, or 3-bedroom apartment.
The rooms at Placemakr are pristine, modern, and fully furnished. We had a spacious 2-bedroom that was exceptionally clean and comfortable and came stocked with everything we needed for an awesome stay. There’s more than enough room to spread out if you’re traveling with guests. We also loved that the bedrooms had no TVs, as it encourages people to rest and unwind in their rooms and socialize only in the common areas.
Apartments include a full kitchen with a dishwasher and utensils, an in-room washer and dryer, high-tech features (such as virtual check-in using the Latch app), toiletries, and more. Our room also had a balcony that overlooked the gorgeous terrace!
things to do
While you’re in Alexandria, I recommend visiting the National Inventor’s Hall of Fame, John Carlyle Square Park, and historic Old Town (check out the ‘I Love You’ installation by R&R Studios, through November 2022). If you’re looking for delicious eats, check out Fontaine Caffe, Yunnan by Potomac Noodle House, and PLNT Burger.

I also want to mention that Placemakr has an excellent customer service team that is responsive, friendly, and efficient. You can reach the support team any time of day with just an email, text or call, and there’s an onsite team member available to address any concerns as well. In addition, the Latch app concept is extremely innovative and it gave me peace of mind to know that we were safe and secure in the building.
Final Thoughts
Whether you’re a solo traveler or traveling with a group, I can’t recommend Placemakr enough if you’re looking for modern accommodation in a central location with tons of amenities.
