I recently visited Cape May for the first time and I was pleasantly surprised! In all the years I’ve lived in Jersey, I’m not sure why I never visited. Nevertheless, I’m so glad I did. Cape May is a wonderful scenic town filled with amazing restaurants, charming boutiques, and of course, glorious beaches.

First, we drove through the Cape May Marina, which is an ideal place for boating and catching a breathtaking sunset. It’s also home to the Cape May Paddle Club, and restaurants like The Lobster House and Saltwater Cafe.
Next, we passed through Cape May’s historic district. This is such a beautiful area, and it truly feels as though you’ve stepped back in time, especially considering the colorful Victorian-era houses lining the streets. Be sure to stop by the famous “Pink House” (aka Victorious boutique) to get some pictures. This is also where you’ll find the popular butterfly mural around the back, which is currently blocked off by the outdoor dining area.
Our last stop was the Cape May Point State Park. Located at the southernmost point of New Jersey, Cape May Point State Park is a popular attraction with many offerings. The park offers hiking trails, beaches, picnicking, a museum, and the famous Cape May Lighthouse. It’s also a popular spot for birdwatching.
We finally made our way to the beach, where we enjoyed a picnic by the water. Picnics are the perfect way to enjoy the outdoors and my new wines from Winc made it even better. Winc is a wine subscription service where you can get a box of 4 hand-picked wines specifically curated for your palate. Just fill out the palate quiz and the wines will be delivered straight to your door! This is so convenient, especially in the current climate.
I love a glass of good sweet wine, and the ones they picked for me were spot-on. I received two white wines (2019 Loves Me Not White Blend and 2019 Easy Peasy Lemon Squeezy Sauvignon Blanc) and two red wines (2018 Wall of Sound Red Blend and 2018 Big Beat Red Blend). So far, the lemon squeezy is my favorite because it’s citrusy, bright, and pairs well with salads and fruits.
